The Nuestra Señora de Atocha was a Spanish treasure galleon that sank in a hurricane near the Florida Keys in 1622, carrying immense gold, silver, and emeralds for Spain, with only a few survivors from 265 people. After a 16-year search, treasure hunter Mel Fisher located the wreck in 1985, recovering hundreds of millions in artifacts and treasure
